Authorities in Cork have confiscated firearms, ammunition, suspected shotgun cartridges, and components believed to be used for making pipe bombs. The discovery followed the arrest of a man in his 40s in Mallow after gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle showing suspicious behavior.
According to reports, officers found three suspected firearms, ammunition, and a quantity of cocaine during the search. The arrested man, known to authorities as a firearms enthusiast, had previously come under investigation for importing weapons and parts into Ireland.
Investigators believe that he recently began constructing homemade firearms at his residence near Douglas in Cork.

Gardaí continue to examine the seized materials as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
