Television host Mel Tracina, known for her work on The Cheap Seats, will lead the 2025 season of Big Brother Australia as it returns to Channel 10 in November. The show is embracing its original style, with Tracina guiding a new generation of housemates.
Big Brother Australia first aired on Channel 10 in 2001, delivering eight memorable seasons. Viewers witnessed unforgettable moments such as quirky dances, emotional proposals, and even the antics of Corey Worthington. The show also launched the careers of several notable TV personalities including Chrissie Swan, Reggie Bird, and Sara-Marie Fedele.
“Big Brother is such a loved show,” said Mel, 36. “Around the world, and especially in Australia, the excitement for the return of it and to go back to the OG format has been so great to hear.”
Following in the footsteps of former hosts Gretel Killeen and Sonia Kruger, Tracina is excited to bring her humor and enthusiasm to the show. A longtime fan of the original format, she says she’s thrilled to helm the revival that includes some fan-favorite features.
“I love that the Australian public decide [who stays and leaves],” Mel added.
The upcoming season aims to recapture the energy that made the early series iconic while introducing a fresh lineup of contestants ready to win viewers’ hearts once again.
