UTSA to Face South Florida in Second Straight Thursday Night Appearance
In 2025, the UTSA Roadrunners celebrate their 15th football season. As one of the newer programs in the FBS, they are in their third year as a member of the American Conference. UTSA began its football journey from scratch, starting with a practice year in 2010, then playing as an FCS Independent in 2011 before joining the Western Athletic Conference in 2012.
The team moved to Conference USA in 2013 and became a full FBS member in 2014. UTSA set NCAA modern startup records in 2011 by attracting 56,743 fans to their inaugural game against Northeastern State and averaging 35,521 fans over six home games that season.
