The Baltimore Orioles have added outfield depth for the 2026 season by signing Leody Taveras, according to multiple reports.
Taveras spent the first five years of his career with the Texas Rangers before splitting the 2025 season between the Rangers and Seattle Mariners organizations. The 2025 season was challenging for him, as he posted a .205 batting average with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs in 58 games before being sent to Triple-A Tacoma in mid-June.
At Triple-A Tacoma, Taveras improved significantly, hitting .280 with 11 home runs and 68 RBIs. He is also currently playing winter ball in the Dominican Winter League for Aguilas Cibaenas, where he is performing well with a .300 average in 9 games.
In Baltimore, Taveras will compete for playing time in a crowded outfield that includes Colton Cowser, Jeremiah Jackson, Tyler O'Neill, Dylan Beavers, and Heston Kjerstad.
