Star’s Fame Confession: ‘A Lot Has Changed’

Australian actress Dakota Fanning reflects on the contrasts between her new mystery thriller All Her Fault and Netflix’s 2024 hit The Perfect Couple. While both center on intrigue, she emphasizes that her latest project has a darker tone and focuses more on suspense.

“There’s no dance,” she laughs, referring to the much-talked-about flash mob scene from The Perfect Couple. “There were also more laughs to The Perfect Couple.”

Fanning notes that audiences are consistently drawn to mysteries because they enjoy solving them together.

“Viewers really love mystery and trying to figure out who is a part of it … That really unites an audience.”

Working with Sarah Snook

In All Her Fault, Fanning stars alongside acclaimed Australian actress Sarah Snook, whom she has admired since Snook’s celebrated role in Succession.

“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing,” Fanning says warmly. “She’s such a talented actor and really a down to earth, grounded, fun person to be around.”

Although their schedules kept them from spending much time together off set, Fanning admires Snook’s commitment to balancing her career and personal life.

“I think it’s been really important for her to recharge and refuel and be with her family.”

About the Series

Based on the novel by Andrea Mara, the eight-part series follows Snook’s character, Marissa Irvine, a mother whose child disappears during a seemingly normal playdate. The show combines emotional depth with psychological suspense, marking another powerful performance from both leads.
