Charnwood is located centrally within the triangle formed by Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby. Over one third of its population of more than 155,000 lives in the vibrant university town of Loughborough.
Two poignant poppy displays have been set up in Loughborough as the town prepares to honor its fallen heroes on Remembrance Sunday. These displays have been installed on trees in Queen’s Park and on the Forest Road Greenbelt, each adorned with approximately 6,500 handmade, knitted poppies.
The project was led by Loughborough in Bloom and the Forest Road Greenbelt Gardeners, with the support of various volunteering groups and individuals. The trees were decorated in advance of the Remembrance Sunday service scheduled for Sunday, 9 November, in Queen’s Park.
