The Colorado football team has experienced a rough couple of weeks on the field, but on the recruiting trail, they had a mixed result on Tuesday.
Alex Ward, a four-star recruit in the 2027 class, verbally committed to CU and head coach Deion Sanders. Ward, from IMG Academy in Florida, had previously decommitted from Alabama and has 13 offers from top schools.
Ward is the younger brother of Christian Ward, who is also verbally committed to CU for the 2026 class. He played at Walton High School in Georgia last year, catching nine passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns, and adding 18 tackles, a sack, and two interceptions on defense.
Meanwhile, four-star defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin decommitted from the Buffs' 2026 class.
Ward is the first verbal commitment for the Buffs for the 2027 class.
