Wayne Gretzky on Leadership and Team Building
Wayne Gretzky, the best professional hockey player of all time, shared his insights on leadership, team building, and hockey at the AAPEX keynote.
Gretzky spoke about his admiration for notable figures in his career, including Gordie Howe and his father Walter, as well as his respect for teammate Dave Semenko.
“I always tell people, you know, listen, I grew up a hockey player. I don’t try to hide it or disguise it. And my dad always taught me, you know, life sports teaches you about life. It teaches how to prepare, teach you how to work hard, teach you how to be unselfish teach you how to respect your opponent, respect your teammate.”
Gretzky emphasized the valuable lessons he learned from sports that have helped him succeed in his post-hockey career.
