High-flying Villarreal thump Rayo Vallecano
Villarreal moved up to second place in LaLiga with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio de la Ceramica, maintaining their unbeaten home record in the league this season.
After a lively opening to the game from both sides, the first noteworthy opportunity arrived in the 12th minute when Rayo forward Alemao saw his close-range header expertly palmed away from danger by Luiz Junior.
