Zach Porthen to Make Springbok Debut
Zach Porthen, 22, will make his Springbok debut against Japan on Saturday, 1 November 2025.
Porthen, born in Cape Town, makes history as South Africa's youngest prop after only one appearance for the DHL Stormers.
"It feels like yesterday when you were still running around on these fields. I speak for all the staff, and everyone involved in this community when we say we absolutely super proud of you."
Porthen's high school rugby coach, Justin Van Winkel, noted that with his skill set, they knew he was destined for greatness.
The Wynberg Boys Junior School headmaster, Cedric Poleman, wished him well on the school's social media page.
