A Christian’s Appeal to Conscience

As the nation approaches the polls, it is imperative to reevaluate the role of faith in politics. In the Bahamas,

faith without integrity has become the new politics of convenience

. The silence of those who claim to stand on faith has become a sin, as they prioritize political allegiance over moral principles.

Believers have begun to

confuse political allegiance with divine appointment

, treating the Progressive Liberal Party as if it were

sacred ground

. This misplaced loyalty has led to the worship of power and party over God. As the Bible states,

No man can serve two masters…You cannot serve God and mammon

(Matthew 6:24) and

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil

(Isaiah 5:20).
