Worcester City Council is considering switching to an eco-friendly fuel alternative for its vehicles.
Council-owned vehicles in Worcester may soon be powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) instead of diesel, with a proposed conversion of 42 lorries, vans, and other vehicles.
I’ve campaigned for many years for cleaner air in our city. I’m pleased to see that, if approved, the reduction in emissions from these council vehicles will be substantial.
Coun Karen Lewing, vice chair of the Environment Committee
The proposal aligns with the council’s vision to become carbon-neutral by 2030 and will be discussed at the Environment Committee meeting on November 4.
