According to Skyscanner, the top destinations for American travelers in 2026 are "not so obvious."
Instead of traditional spots like Hawaii and Disney World, travelers are showing interest in places like Costa Rica, Turkey, and Connecticut.
"The not-so-obvious (places) are stealing the spotlight," Skyscanner writes. "Travelers are turning their attention to smaller, lesser-known destinations that fly further under the radar but offer something fresh beyond the big-name spots."
- Limon, Costa Rica, with a 286% increase in flight searches
- Bodrum, Turkey
- Zadar, Croatia
- New Haven, Connecticut, in the US
- Vail, Colorado, a mountainous ski haven
