Tear down trade barriers between provinces, Ontario Chamber urges feds

Ontario Chamber of Commerce Urges Feds to Tear Down Trade Barriers

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has submitted its budget recommendations to the federal government ahead of the November budget release.

The Chamber is seeking priorities that will create a competitive business and trade environment, particularly in light of economic uncertainty due to the ongoing global trade war.

“What’s going to be most important is what is in the actual budget next week,”

said La-Na Fragomeni, president of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce.

The federal Liberal government has been unable to reach a trade deal with the United States, which is crucial for protecting the highly integrated steel, aluminum, and auto industries.

The Ontario Chamber's recommendations are aimed at addressing these challenges and promoting a more competitive business environment.
