A man was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out overnight in a home in South Miami-Dade.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene along Southwest 127th Terrace, off 88th Avenue, just after 11:30 p.m.
"Kitchen on fire, one male on scene advising burns on his head,"
said a dispatcher in radio transmissions. Approximately 11-plus units responded, with heavy smoke upon arrival, according to MDFR Battalion Chief James Koch.
"Luckily, they were in pretty quick and made access because the house was open already."
Firefighters battled the fast-moving flames, knocking them out in under an hour. A couple lives in the home, and a woman was seen distraught outside the residence.
