Judge Blocks Government Shutdown Layoffs
A federal judge in California issued an injunction blocking the Trump administration from laying off workers during the government shutdown.
Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted a preliminary injunction, stating that the terminations were intended for
“political retribution”.
The injunction is expected to last while the case is pending but could be appealed, following a previous temporary restraining order issued by Illston.
