Another Georgia lawmaker, Marcus Wiedower, is stepping down, creating a fourth vacancy in the House and Senate.
Wiedower, a representative from Watkinsville, announced his resignation after six years in the House. He cited the rapid growth of his company, which will require more travel and take him away from the Capitol during the legislative session.
“While I’m stepping away from elected office, I look forward to remaining actively involved in our community and continuing to help tackle Georgia’s most pressing challenges, especially attainable housing through my work at Hillpointe,”
he said in a statement. Wiedower works for Hillpointe, a real estate development and investment management firm based in Winter Park, Florida.
