The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) has halted a project to install shore power at the Ogden Point cruise ship terminal due to significant cost escalations and increased project complexity.
Despite funding commitments of $31.5 million from Transport Canada and the B.C. Ministry of Transportation, a detailed review showed the project is not financially viable under current conditions.
