BYD Enters Japan's Kei Car Market with New Racco
Chinese automotive giant BYD is set to challenge Japan's microcar market with the electric BYD Racco, its first kei car.
The BYD Racco was first seen in leaked images from a presentation event before its official debut at the Japan Mobility Show.
At first glance, the Racco's design follows traditional kei car cues, adhering to the strict size and proportion rules of the segment.
- The windowline and fin-shaped pillars are reminiscent of the previous-generation Mitsubishi ek Space.
- The headlights and stance appear to draw inspiration from the Daihatsu Tanto.
