Frogs help Fred Hutch find the shape of small things

Frogs Contribute to Fred Hutch Science

Frogs have significantly contributed to Fred Hutch science as a model organism, sharing much of human biology.

After a two-decade absence, Yasuhiro Arimura has reintroduced them for a new era of science.

In summer 2024, 30 live African clawed frogs arrived at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in cardboard shipping boxes.

The mottled, greenish-brown frogs settled into their new homes, hiding in plastic tubes or floating among lily pads.
