Thousands of pilgrims attended the consecration of the world's largest Orthodox church in Bucharest, Romania.
Proposals for a national cathedral had been discussed for over a century, but were delayed due to two world wars and communist rule, which suppressed religion.
The cathedral, also known as the National Cathedral, stands over 125 meters tall and can accommodate 5,000 worshippers.
The cathedral's opulent interior is covered with frescoes and mosaics depicting saints and icons.
