Apple to Introduce Digital Passport IDs to Wallet
Apple will soon introduce a feature to Apple Wallet, allowing U.S. users to create a digital ID using their passport.
This digital ID can be used at select TSA checkpoints for domestic travel, expanding Wallet's functionality beyond payments and tickets.
- Currently, 12 states and Puerto Rico support government IDs in Apple Wallet.
- The feature was previously announced as part of the iOS 26 release.
The new digital IDs won’t replace a U.S. passport.
