SC gives Vodafone Idea a breather
Vodafone Idea welcomed the decision, looking forward to working with the DoT to resolve the matter for its 200 million subscribers.
The Supreme Court permitted the DoT to reassess Vodafone Idea's adjusted gross revenue dues due to "peculiar facts and circumstances" of the case.
The move opens a window for the debt-laden telecom service provider to seek a recalibration of its long-standing dues.
The decision was made by a bench led by Chief Justice B R Gavai, stating that the Union government should not be barred from reassessing the amount claimed from Vodafone Idea.
