PSA: Re-register your hardware 2FA key for X before Nov. 10 to avoid getting locked out | TechCrunch

Important Update on 2FA Authentication

X is retiring its Twitter domain for 2FA authentication. To avoid getting locked out, users need to re-enroll their hardware keys before November 10.

By November 10, we’re asking all accounts that use a security key as their two-factor authentication (2FA) method to re-enroll their key to continue accessing X.

This change is necessary due to the retirement of the old twitter.com domain. However, it will not impact other 2FA authenticators like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.

Users can re-enroll their existing security key or enroll a new one to continue accessing X after November 10.

Author's summary: Re-register 2FA keys by Nov 10.
