Fashion Show Raises Funds for Refugee Support
A fashion show has raised £950 to support refugees in Redditch and Bromsgrove. The event was organised by Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees (BRWR), a charity that supports around 200 refugees in the area, mainly from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Syria.
The show, held at Bromsgrove Methodist Church Centre, featured women's outfits from high street retailers, modelled by nine volunteers, most of whom were Ukrainian refugees.
These are difficult times for those of us who wish to support people coming to the UK to seek sanctuary from often unimaginable experiences of war, persecution and other dangers.
According to Yvonne Rendell, chair of BRWR, the event was a success, with many people coming to support the charitable work. The event demonstrated the welcome, kindness, and compassion of the community.
