Bromsgrove Fashion Show Raises £950 for Refugees

A fashion show in Bromsgrove has raised nearly £950 to support refugees in the area.

The event, organised by Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees (BRWR), will help fund practical and financial assistance for around 200 refugees, many of whom have fled conflict in countries including Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Syria.

Held at Bromsgrove Methodist Church Centre, the catwalk event was attended by 80 people and featured women’s clothing from high street retailers, modelled by nine volunteers, most of whom were Ukrainian refugees.

"These are difficult times for those of us who wish to support people coming to the UK to seek sanctuary from often unimaginable experiences of war, persecution and other dangers. So we were delighted that so many people came along to support the important charitable work that we do. It was heartening to see the welcome, the kindness and the compassion demonstrated by so many."

— Yvonne Rendell, chair of BRWR

The event aimed to provide support to refugees rebuilding their lives in the area.
