Residents Speak Out Over 'Gangs of Feral Yobs' Taking Over Town
Residents of Redditch have expressed concerns about "gangs of feral yobs" taking over parts of the town, particularly in the most deprived areas.
The town, once lively, now features a "depressing array of boarded-up shops, graffiti-covered storefronts and derelict pubs". Residents attribute the rise in anti-social behavior to drug issues.
"I lived here in the 1980s and it was a much different place then. There was a buzz around the town and people went out. Shopping was great and there was a good atmosphere about the place."
Grandmother Maggie Scott, 72, a retired carer, no longer feels safe to go out after dark due to the situation. She prefers to go to Birmingham for shopping and meeting friends, as it offers more than Redditch.
