India Launches MAHA-MedTech Mission
The Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas (MAHA)-Medical Technology aims to boost self-reliance in medical technology.
The MAHA-MedTech mission will provide funding support to various entities, including academic and R&D institutions, hospitals, startups, MSMEs, and the MedTech industry.
- Collaborations between entities are also eligible for funding.
- Funding support ranges from Rs 5-25 crore per project, with up to Rs 50 crore in exceptional cases.
The mission aims to accelerate innovation, reduce reliance on high-cost imports, and promote equitable access to affordable and high-quality medical technologies.
The mission is a collaborative effort between the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and the Gates Foundation.
