From Humble Beginnings to Champion Sheep Breeder
Alameen Hussain, a 29-year-old from Good Hope, East Bank Essequibo, has become a leading young livestock farmer in Region Three.
Raised in a family of small ruminant farmers, Hussain developed a passion for animal husbandry at a young age. He spent his afternoons helping his father with the family's poultry and small livestock, including turkeys and chickens.
Hussain's journey in livestock farming began when he was given two goats, but he soon shifted to sheep rearing in 2012 due to the aggressive nature of the goats and complaints from neighbors.
Sheep are easier to manage than goats, Hussain explained.
