Power has been mostly restored to residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley after a car crash on Saturday morning, October 25.
A car crash at Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road around 7 a.m. likely caused the power outage, with multiple transformers sustaining heavy damage.
- Over 5,400 customers in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington initially lost power.
- More than 1,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Sedro-Woolley were still without power as of 1 p.m.
- Power is estimated to be restored to the remaining customers around 2:30 p.m.
The Sedro-Woolley police reported that a motor vehicle crash likely led to the large power outage.
The outage also affected traffic lights, with some intersections having battery-powered lights and others not.
