Tragic Incident in Edo State
Shock and anger have followed reports from Edo State that a 20-year-old woman, Sarah Aghahowa, was allegedly poisoned by her stepmother after gaining admission to study Nursing.
Sarah had secured admission into the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor. The incident occurred on Thursday in Jemilla community, near Ramat Park along the Benin-Agbor Road in Benin City.
A viral video showed a mob of residents attempting to hold the alleged culprit accountable. Social media users alleged that Sarah’s late mother had also faced similar persecution in the past.
