Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, announced a joint effort with Brazil to develop environmentally friendly, ethanol-based renewable energy.
The memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
"This collaboration, among other things, encourages the development of new renewable energy, particularly the transition from the gasoline sector,"
said Bahlil. Brazil has already implemented a nationwide E30 blend of ethanol and gasoline, with some states reaching E100, pure ethanol without any gasoline mixture.
Minister Bahlil aims to implement E10 ethanol-blended fuel by 2027-2028.
