UNRWA Emphasizes Need for Gaza Ceasefire to Restore Education

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has stressed the urgent need to maintain the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to restore a safe educational environment for children.

Palestinian children in Gaza need education, and “we must do everything possible to make that happen.”

According to John Whyte, Deputy Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, UNRWA remains the largest provider of emergency education in Gaza and is working to create spaces in some schools to resume classes.
