Autumn Storm Hits British Columbia
Thousands of people are without power and travel has been disrupted in several areas of British Columbia due to strong winds and torrential rain.
According to Hydro, the affected areas include Vancouver Island, the central Interior, and northern B.C., with over 7,000 people still without power as of Friday morning, primarily in Metro Vancouver, the central Interior, and northern Vancouver Island.
- Landslides and road washouts have been reported on northern Vancouver Island, including on Head Bay Road, between Gold River Road and Tlupana Road, and on Holberg Road in Port Hardy.
- Ferry sailings between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland have been cancelled due to high winds in the forecast for the Strait of Georgia.
