Residents in the Sydenham River watershed are asked to voluntarily reduce water use by 10% due to Level 1 low water conditions declared by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.
A Level 1 condition is declared when a watershed receives 80% or less of normal precipitation over a three-month period, according to Emily De Cloet, flood forecasting and warning coordinator.
“At this point, it’s optional, but we’re asking people to just be cognizant of their water usage,” and cut back on non-essential uses like washing cars, watering lawns, and power washing driveways.
Summary: Residents asked to reduce water use by 10% due to low water conditions.
