The Williams Road Fire has reached 90% containment as of 8:59 p.m., according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Burnet County officials reported that all fire is contained within the established perimeter, with no evacuations or closures in effect. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and no structures have been impacted.
A 5-mile temporary flight restriction has been requested by the Texas A&M Forest Service around the fire perimeter to ensure safe working conditions for aircraft crews.
Helicopters were utilized by Inks Lake State Park officials to collect waste from the lake and drop it on the fire, successfully preventing the fire from reaching the state park.
"This incident is a good reminder of how quickly wildfires can spread and the importance of fire safety,"
stated park officials on Facebook.
