Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) addressed the current storm recovery efforts in Western Alaska during his speech at the Alaska Federation of Natives convention.
Sullivan has been in contact with local, tribal, federal, and White House officials to secure disaster relief resources for Alaska.
“Tragically, one life has been lost, two others remain missing as this powerful storm raged, but seeing Alaskans coming together, more than 50 people were rescued by our courageous Coast Guard and the Alaska National Guard forces, that is really incredible. And now we have almost 1,400 Alaskans forced from their homes, sheltering in buildings and temporary shelters,”
Sullivan noted that the storm has had a significant impact, with many Alaskans displaced and in need of assistance.
