Man at Large After Assaulting Deputy in Moncks Corner Incident
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who assaulted a deputy on Thursday evening.
Sango Huwaa Mosia Asante, 31, of Cypress Forest Drive has outstanding warrants for resisting arrest with assault on law enforcement.
According to the sheriff's office report, the incident occurred when deputies arrived at Cypress Forest Drive for a report of an unknown problem. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Asante, who reportedly became combative.
Asante physically assaulted the responding deputy and fled the area on foot.
Asante was pursued through a nearby neighborhood and wooded area but was not located.
