Shoplifter Caught with Stolen Merchandise in Walmart
A 58-year-old woman, Violet Rose Gardner, was arrested for shoplifting at a Walmart store in The Villages.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Gardner was seen stuffing merchandise into reusable shopping bags while riding in a motorized shopping cart. She left the store without paying for the items, which totaled $427.
- Gardner was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
- This is not her first offense, as she was previously arrested for shoplifting at Home Depot in 2024 and convicted of theft in 2017 and 2018 in Lake County.
