A Special CBI Court has sent Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar to 14-day judicial custody.

During the investigation, officials seized various items, including gold jewellery, luxury watches, imported liquor, a revolver, and documents related to properties and luxury vehicles, such as BMW and Mercedes cars.

The CBI will produce DIG Harcharan Bhullar before the CBI District Court in Chandigarh. A search at Bhullar's residence is still ongoing.

According to CBI officials,

DIG Bhullar allegedly demanded Rs 8 lakh through a middleman from a scrap dealer in exchange for dropping charges in an old case.

The CBI arrested Punjab Police DIG (Ropar Range) Harcharan Singh Bhullar in connection with the Rs 8 lakh bribery case. Bhullar and a middleman are scheduled to be produced before the CBI Court in Chandigarh, where the CBI will seek their custody for further investigation.
