The New Mexico Finance Authority has approved over $50 million in housing loans for developers across the state.
According to NMFA CEO Marquita Russel, this amount represents more than one-third of the $125 million in housing-related loans allocated by the Legislature in 2024.
The Legislature’s “historic” housing spending in 2024 included $125 million in housing-related loans.
The approved loans will support various housing projects, including a workforce housing project in the Chamisa Verde subdivision, where a 3D printing mechanism is being used to dispense cement.
CEO Marquita Russel provided an update on the status of the authority’s loan fund during a presentation to an interim legislative committee.
Author's summary: NMFA approves $52 million in housing loans.
