Seattle School Board Selects Finalists for Superintendent Position
The Seattle School Board has chosen two unnamed finalists for the district's next superintendent, moving them forward to the final stage of the hiring process.
"I think that decision [to have a closed search] allowed us to attract a strong pool of applicants, including sitting superintendents and other exceptional leaders who may not have applied in the open process,"
According to Board President Gina Topp, the candidates' identities will remain confidential to ensure a "fair and professional process" that protects both the candidates and their current districts.
- The board voted unanimously to move the two applicants, referred to as candidates 7 and 8, forward.
- All candidates currently hold leadership positions.
