Football: Lock-down defense guides Parkers Prairie past Lake Park-Audubon

Panthers scored 13 points off turnovers in the second half on Wednesday. A strong defensive effort was all the Parkers Prairie football team needed to close the regular season.

The Panthers forced two second-half turnovers that led to 13 points in their 35-3 victory over Lake Park-Audubon at Panthers Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 15, running the team's winning streak to six games.

It's also the third time the defense allowed six points or less. To start, Parkers Prairie’s ground game took center stage to start the game, as the backfield trio of Gavin Bosel, Isaac and Zach Ruckheim battled through contact in the Raiders’ front line for positive yardage.

The extra effort paid off with points, as Zach Ruckheim put Parkers Prairie on the board first with a two-yard touchdown run. Following the score, the defenses took over, as the Raiders forced a punt with eight minutes to go in the period following Brody Hanson stopping Bosel at midfield.

Author's summary: Panthers win 35-3 with strong defense.
