Mount Pleasant Residents Request Speed Humps After Near-Miss Incident

A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on Mossy Branch Way, a road with a history of speeding issues.

Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been seeking speed humps for nearly four years, citing the road's use as a "cut-through" street between Rifle Range Road and Ben Sawyer Boulevard.

"We had this horrible thing," said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident. "Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.

Despite three traffic studies, the residents' requests have been unsuccessful, prompting them to bring their concerns directly to the town council after a recent near-miss incident.

The neighborhood is led by Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, who is advocating for the installation of speed humps to improve road safety.
