TUBAS, November 29, 2025 (WAFA) — A medical team from the Palestinian Red Crescent in Tubas suffered suffocation after inhaling teargas on Saturday during ongoing Israeli military operations in the area.
According to local sources, Israeli forces raided the city of Tubas and nearby towns at dawn, triggering confrontations with residents. Soldiers fired live bullets, sound bombs, and tear gas at civilians, causing several cases of suffocation, including among medics who were providing first aid.
The incident occurred as Palestinian paramedics attempted to reach wounded individuals in the streets. Teargas canisters landed near their ambulance, forcing them to briefly halt rescue operations until conditions stabilized.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that their team members received on-site treatment for teargas inhalation and later resumed their humanitarian activities.
"Medics should never be targeted while performing their duty to save lives," said a spokesperson for the Red Crescent, urging international protection for medical and rescue teams operating under fire.
Israeli forces continued their operations in Tubas after the incident, conducting house raids and detaining several residents. The area has witnessed recurrent incursions in recent weeks as part of a wider campaign in the occupied West Bank.
