PROVIDENCE – Recreational cannabis use among adult Rhode Islanders has nearly doubled since 2017. In response, the R.I. Department of Health is launching a public health education campaign called Rhode Island Responsible.
“Legalization does not mean that cannabis use is without risk,” said Dr. “We’re sharing these educational materials to help Rhode Islanders understand the potential health risks associated with cannabis. By increasing this awareness, we hope to support prevention and reduce potential harms, especially among youths, pregnant individuals, and those with underlying behavioral health conditions.”
Campaign materials are available on the RIDOH website for residents.
The Rhode Island Responsible campaign aims to educate adults about the risks of cannabis use, promote responsible consumption, and protect vulnerable groups through evidence-based resources.
