Channel Ten faced backlash after viewers noticed that one of this year's Big Brother housemates had previously appeared on the game show Deal Or No Deal. The contestant, Vincent, a 21-year-old barber from Victoria, had been featured on the Grant Denyer–hosted program in 2024.
During his earlier TV appearance, Vincent, supported by his grandmother, shared that he was playing to support his extended family. His comment surprised host Grant Denyer.
"There's 108 great-grandchildren in my family!" Vincent told the stunned host.
In that episode, Vincent reached the final two cases — one holding $50,000 and the other only $75 — and was offered $18,800 to walk away. The intense moment was noted by many viewers at the time.
When the Big Brother 2025 reboot premiered on Sunday night, observant fans quickly recognized him as the same contestant. Many voiced their reactions online, sparking discussion about Channel Ten’s casting choices.
"Omgg I remember him lmaoo, someone posted him on TikTok and the girls were going absolutely feral over him. Knew I recognised him," one person wrote.
"If I had a penny for every time someone who has previously been on Deal or No Deal was cast on a reboot of Big Brother," another commented.
Fans criticized Channel Ten after recognizing a former game show contestant among this season’s Big Brother cast, reigniting debates about repetitive casting in reality TV.
