Toyota Unveils New Look HiLux with Numerous Enhancements
Toyota has revealed a redesigned HiLux featuring a bold exterior, enhanced drivability and comfort, and an upgraded interior. The new model introduces significant advances in multimedia and safety technology.
Powertrain Options and Future Variants
- The HiLux continues to offer diesel engines across 21 variants with single, extra, and double cab options.
- It is available with 4X2 or 4X4 drivetrains and manual or automatic transmissions.
- A battery-electric powertrain will be introduced for the first time, primarily targeting fleet customers.
- Toyota confirmed a hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) variant is planned for release in 2028.
Trim Levels and Off-Road Capability
The lineup includes WorkMate, SR, SR5, Rogue, and Rugged X grades. The Rugged X model enhances off-road performance by standardizing protective and recovery equipment designed for tough terrain.
Exterior Design Inspired by Cyber Sumo
The bold exterior, designed locally in Altona in collaboration with Thailand and Japan, embraces a Cyber Sumo theme. It features slim-line headlights, sharp body lines, and fully redesigned front and rear sections.
Interior Upgrades for Visibility and Comfort
The interior sports a fully revamped three-tiered dashboard set flatter than the previous model, improving forward visibility and overall driver experience.
