A tragic incident occurred this afternoon, 10 November, when a woman and a child drowned after falling into Dandenong Creek, police have confirmed.
A witness reported that two people were swept away near Allan Street at about 3:45 pm after accidentally falling into the creek. It is believed the woman attempted to rescue the child but also encountered trouble in the water.
Police conducted a search of the area, where they found the unconscious woman and child. Both were pulled from the water, and CPR was administered at the scene.
“They were unable to be revived and declared dead at the scene.”
