The reliable Toyota Hilux pickup truck, known worldwide for its durability and versatility, is now available as an all-electric vehicle. The ninth-generation model debuted today in Thailand, marking a decade since the previous launch.
Toyota highlights the electric variant alongside diesel and hydrogen fuel cell options, emphasizing its “multi-pathway approach” to powertrains. The Hilux comes in both single- and double-cab versions, though European markets will only receive the double-cab due to sales preferences.
The electric Hilux offers a payload capacity of 1,576 pounds (715 kilograms) and can tow up to 3,527 pounds (1,600 kilograms).
Toyota states the new Hilux BEV can travel approximately 150 miles (240 kilometers) on a full charge, following the WLTP cycle.
Additionally, a hydrogen fuel cell version will be introduced, broadening the model's eco-friendly options.
Summary: The new Toyota Hilux embraces electrification with an all-electric and hydrogen fuel cell lineup, combining rugged utility with modern powertrain technology.
